On behalf of the entire MOD, SVK Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš congratulated biathlete Anastasiya Kuzmina on her first medal she claimed for Slovakia at this year’s Winter Olympics. Anastasiya Kuzmina won the Olympic silver medal in the 10-km women’s Pursuit Race. She made it to the second place from her initial 13th starting position.

On her achievement at the Olympics, Head of the MOD said:“What Anastasiya Kuzmina showed today is very hard to describe in words. She is in her lifes best shape, which she also proved at the Biathlon World Cup. Today neither the adverse weather conditions, nor the extra seconds in the penalty loops broke her spirit. Put simply, she is our warrior, we are proud of her, and we must start thinking about how we will surprise her after her return home. On behalf of the entire MOD, I would like to offer my wholehearted congratulations on her yet another tremendous success.”

The sportswoman of the Military Sports Centre Dukla Banská Bystrica has won her fourth Olympic medal at the Winter Olympic Games. She clinched Gold in 2010 and 2014, and scooped Silver in 2010.
