Medical professionals from V4 countries will attend Visegrad Military Medicine Conference 2019 in Slovakia

Medical professionals from the Visegrad countries will meet in Slovakia on 4-6 February 2019, to participate in the Visegrad Military Medicine Conference 2019 (VIMIMED 2019) in Liptovský Mikuláš. Organised under the Slovak V4 Presidency by the Office of the SVK Armed Forces Surgeon General (OSG), the Conference will be attended by 61 foreign and 19 Slovak delegates, including representatives of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (MILMED COE) in Budapest, Hungary and the Multinational Medical Coordination Centre (MMCC) in Koblenz, Germany.
  
The aim of the 1st Visegrad Military Medicine Conference is to deepen the V4 defence engagement in the field of military medicine. Military doctors, medical staff and medics will explore potential areas of cooperation to backfill medical capabilities such air medevac services. Delegates will also explore medical trade-specific training and education, force protection for medical units on operations abroad, medical support to Special Operations Forces (SOF), veterinary support, and medical logistics.
 
VIMIMED 2019 aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and best practice among the participating nations, work towards closer cooperation, and increase the interoperability of V4 medical units on joint V4 deployments. Through the VIMIMED Conference, the SVK MOD would like to see regular annual meetings of the V4 Defence Medical Services, to accelerate cooperation in this field.
