Tunneling Is a Media Hoax

After week-long internal investigations it was proved true that the document provided to the special prosecutor and the parliamentary supervisory committee is inauthentic.
‘The document is a compilation of certain facts, misinformation and purpose-built conclusions,’ said the Minister Martin Glváč. Based on the results of the internal investigation, it became apparent that the case of alleged tunneling in the Military Intelligence Service (VSS) is a dangerous media hoax. ‘It is a fictive construct, which has threatened the interests of the state, the functioning of Military Intelligence and the lives of its members, whose identity is secret,’ stated the Minister. The Military Intelligence Service and the Ministry of Defence of the SR will fully cooperate with the special parliamentary supervisory committee and the authority in the penal proceedings.
In the next few days, the Defence Ministry will file a criminal complaint to initiate penal proceedings against the actors involved – Mr. Mikulec, Mr. Suchodolinský, and Mr. Galko. ‘Their irresponsible doings caused that several premises became unusable for the activity of the Intelligence Service. Our foreign partners expressed concerns about the issue because some of the mentioned premises were used for the joint operations; for instance, in the fight against terrorism,’ added Glváč.
