Ironman Competition Won by Soldier

The 9th annual Ironman competition has got a winner. Staff Sergeant Tomáš Barborík from Nitra, who has participated in this competition for the fourth time, received the title and the challenge cup.
The Special Health Care and Training Institute MoD SR Lešť organized the competition during 28 – 29 May. Fifteen competitors from the MoD, the MoI and the Criminal Office of the Finance Administration came to size themselves up against each other in 10 different disciplines without distinction of different weight and age categories. The competition involved disciplines as pull-ups, rope climbing without the use of the legs, weight lifting on a bench, two 15 kg weight lifting with the arms stretched sideways, carrying two 60 kg loads in a 30 m long distance, carrying 100 kg hand-looms, 30 m car pulling, 3 km speedy movement of soldiers wearing boots and carrying submachine guns without slings, land obstacle crossing or water obstacle crossing in camouflage uniforms and boots. Sgt. Michal Sklárčik (Police Corps) and Lt. Miroslav Andruška (ÚOÚČ - Department of Protection of Constitutional Official), the members of the Ministry of Interior managed to end on the 2nd and 3rd place.
