Winners of 22nd MOD Drawing and Painting Competition called ‘Soldiers Through the Eyes of Children’ have now been announced

The winners of the 22nd MOD Drawing and Painting Competition called ‘Soldiers Through the Eyes of Children’ for primary school pupils have now been announced. A panel of judges, made up of artists like Katarína Böhmová, Martin Kellenberger and František Guldan and MOD military and civilian personnel, have judged 2,338 drawings and paintings. This is the third highest figure in the history of the competition. A total of 1,706 entries in the Junior Pupils category and 632 entries in the Senior Pupils category entered the competition.
In the Junior Pupils category, Amélia Peťkovská, of Veľká Hradná Primary School & Kindergarten, placed 1st, followed by Peter Kramár, of Nemšová Primary School of Arts, and Laura Psotková, of Kriváň Primary School, in second and third places.
Celebrating in first, second and third places in the Senior Pupils category are: Karolína Schmögnerová, of Comenius Primary School in Smižany, Nikola Myšlenská, of Valaliky Primary School, and Liliana Ďuricová, of Kriváň Primary School.
The winners of both categories will receive the certificate of participation, souvenirs and cash prizes. The Defence Magazine editorial staff will put the artworks of the entrants that have made it to the finals on public display. In keeping with tradition, these will be on display in a number of cities across Slovakia, starting from June.
