For potential recruits, the Slovak Armed Foces have opened up 25 first point-of-contact places across Slovakia to simplify access to information on active duty service and get more people sign up and join the Armed Forces. The list of the places, addresses and phone numbers can be viewed online on the SVK Armed Forces' official recruitment website at www.budemvojak.sk under ‘Contact us’.
The first point-of-contact places are located at military bases in selected county towns to supplement the recruitment teams in Slovakia's six regional capitals – Trenčín, Nitra, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Košice and Prešov.
Defence Minister Martin Sklenár said: “Thanks to this, those interested in working in the Armed Forces must no longer travel to regional capitals, they can simply come to a first point-of-contact place at the closest military base where they will be fully informed about the recruitment and selection process and service in the Armed Force by soldiers themselves. In doing so, we want to reach out to those wanting to start a military career.”
At the first point-of-contact places with working hours between 08.00-11.30 and 12.30-15.00, those expressing an interest in careers in the service will be provided with all aspects of the application and selection process and tips on how to prepare. They will also be guided through the application forms and other documents. The first point-of-contact places will accept the fully completed application forms.
In addition to that, a total of 46 teams have been set up across military units to talk about what's on offer in military roles as well as to present the Slovak Armed Forces in local schools, providing much of the pre-recruitment engagement required to attract young recruits.
