In a meeting with Czech Ambassador Jindrák, Defence Minister Sklenár appreciates the level of SVK-CZE cooperation with the potential to be enhanced further to the benefit of both countries

Defence Minister Martin Sklenár met Czech Ambassador Rudolf Jindrák along with Czech Defence Attaché Maj Gen Libor Jílek at the Slovak Defence Ministry in Bratislava today. The central focus of their conversation was on SVK-CZE Defence & Security cooperation, including between the nations' defence industries.

Speaking about the SVK-CZE partnership, Defence Minister Martin Sklenár said: “We have historically and naturally enjoyed a very good relationship with the Czech Republic, not excluding Defence & Security. I am delighted to see that our collaboration with the Czech Defence Ministry is deepening in the field of armaments and defence industry. This is confirmed by our joint action to procure CV90 tracked infantry fighting vehicles and the established cooperation on equipment repairs and production between Aircraft Repair Company Trenčín and AERO Vodochody and LOM Prague.”

On this note, Minister Sklenár expressed the conviction that SVK-CZE cooperation has the potential to be enhanced further to the benefit of both countries and their industries.

On NATO's Eastern Flank, the head of the SVK MOD thanked Ambassador Jindrák for the Czech Republic's significant assistance as a framework nation in building the NATO Multinational Battlegroup Slovakia (NATO MN BG SVK).

On Ukraine, both leaders discussed the recent developments in the country and the nations' past and future long-term military support to Kyiv.
