Defence Minister declares 27th Military Deed of the Year Awards open for nominations

Defence Minister Robert Kaliňák has declared the 27th Military Deed of the Year Awards open for nominations. The Awards recognise and reward the extraordinary deeds and acts of service by those inside and outside the ranks of the Slovak Armed Forces in 2023. Members of the wide public, too, are invited to send in their nominations by email to cinroka@mod.gov.sk or regular mail to our address (Marketing Section, Communications Branch, Defence Minister's Office, Námestie generála Viesta 2, 832 47 Bratislava) no later than 29 February 2024.

The Military Deed of the Year Awards fall into four categories: Rescue of Life, Assistance to the Public, A Friend of the Armed Forces, and Service to the Country.

The nominations commission will meet to consider the nominations and select the three best nominees in each category after 29 February 2024. The winners of the Awards will then be decided by a panel of judges involving top Defence officials and the President of the Slovak Republic as Commander-in-Chief (CinC) of the Slovak Armed Forces.
