The SVK Military Police-organised joint motorcycle training is an important initiative aimed at ensuring that service motorcyclists improve their riding skills to keep themselves and other road users safe. Running on 16-20 June, the joint motorcycle training brought together motorcycle-mounted security personnel from Slovakia, Czechia and Hungary, with the aim of deepening their skills, coordination and confidence on joint operations.
The training took place at the Motorcycle Circuit in Dlhá near Trnava and at the Military Police Dept Vlkanová-Hronsek, with a practical ride-out session from Bratislava to the High Tatras and back.
In a statement, Command Sergeant Major of the SVK Military Police Sgt Maj Ladislav Kováč said: “This training is of special importance because motorcyclists of the Military Police – exercising the right of way – must keep their skills sharp and up-to date. Closed circuits such as that in Dlhá near Trnava allow us to practice these skills within the safety boundaries – both for the service motorcycles and the service riders. The practical sessions on a closed circuit track cover the handling and control of the motorbikes, emergency braking, slow speed manoeuvring between road cones, and security escorts.”
At the MP Dept Vlkanová-Hronsek, slow speed manoeuvring was combined with various risky situations that may occur while riding on roads. “We will put the skills from the entire training to best use in real life – both when escorting international delegations and diplomatic missions and when escorting members of international armed forces as they transit through Slovakia to their destinations,“ MSgt Martin Kvašai, of the Personal Security and Escort Services Section Bratislava, said.
In addition to enhancing safe riding skills, the SVK Military Police-organised event also supports the continuous exchange of experience and good practices between security personnel from different countries, thereby strengthening international cooperation and mutual trust.
